Goodway brushes3/1/2023 ![]() Projectiles are reusable and come in many different types. Some customers have seen a decrease of 80% (!) of their downtime due to cleaning and maintenance activities of their heat exchangers. By shooting specialized projectiles through the tubes at a very high speed, the total cleaning downtime is reduced significantly. When larger heat exchangers, such as: surface condensers in power generation plants have to be cleaned, a projectile tube cleaning is one of the most effective and efficient technologies available. You can find some of the most common tube cleaning applications on this page of our website. Therefore, this method can be used for preventive maintenance, but also for removing hard deposits or even drill open blocked tubes. There are many different machines, shafts, brushes and tools available to perform tube cleaning. A low pressure water flush ensures that all loosened deposits are flushed out of the tubes. This is a very effective maintenance method that uses high speed, rotating brushes to create friction in the tubes. 500-1000 tubes, a mechanical cleaning with rotating brushes can be utilized. Mechanical Tube Cleaningįor smaller heat exchangers with max. Though a 2-pass cleaning can be performed here as explained above. Nevertheless, it is important to note that a low pressure tube cleaning will not be effective for heat exchanger tubes with extremely hard deposits, where ultra high pressure cleaning (2500+ bar) is required. It is also possible to remove harder deposits, such as limescale with advanced projectiles. However, the softer the deposit, the easier the cleaning becomes. Generally speaking, a low pressure cleaning can be performed for nearly all types of situations. This type of cleaning is mostly utilized before tube inspections and tests. Sometimes, a low pressure cleaning can be performed after a high pressure cleaning, this is also called a 2-pass cleaning. In most cases a low pressure cleaning is easier to perform with less risk and a lower cost point. Mechanical tube cleaning with high speed, rotating brushes.Īll Goodway tube cleaning solutions are based on low pressure, this is different from traditional high pressure cleaning solutions.Due to the large variety of applications, our solutions are split into 2 methods. These solutions are used to remove deposits of the inner tube walls of various technical installations, such as shell & tube heat exchangers.
